The NTP GROUP attaches a high degree of importance to sustainability. For NTP, sustainability means more than just an awareness of energy concerns or the reduction of the effect of our operations on the environment. We focus on respectful and careful consideration of people, the surroundings and working methods right across the full range of NTP’s activities: soil, water, air and energy.
SKAO CO2 performance ladder
The CO2 Performance ladder is an instrument used to stimulate companies involved in contract work to be more aware of CO2 considerations in their operations. Particularly in relation to energy efficiency, efficient use of materials and the use of sustainable energy sources. A recent development in the market is the CO2 performance ladder introduced by ProRail. The CO2 performance ladder has been used by ProRail since 2009 for contracts in the railway sector. It wasn’t long before other contractors and other industrial sectors began to see the benefits of using this ladder.
Version 2.0
This has now led to the development of the 2.0 version of the CO2 Performance ladder. In this version, the ladder has a much broader level of application for other contractors and other sectors. For example, the ladder is now more compatible with the Besluit Aanbestedingsregels voor Overheidsopdrachten (Rules for Public Procurement). The CO2 performance ladder consists of five levels, ranked from 1 to 5. SKAO has formulated a far-reaching environmental policy with the ambition of reducing CO2 emissions. The NTP Group intends to fully assume its responsibilities in the reduction of CO2 emissions and has signed up wholeheartedly to this initiative. At the start of 2011, the group had achieved level 3 on the CO2 performance ladder. Its aim is to achieve level 4 before the end of 2011.
